The Ghanaian men started quite well but lost their composure after about 20minutes of play through the rest of the game. They threw away a lot of chances including 2 penalty strokes, however they managed to win 6-0. The six goals made up of 3 penalty corners were scored by Benedict Sam in the 6th,15th and 64th min (penalty corners) and 3 field goals by Alfred Ntiamoah 45th min (field goal) and Shadrack Baah in the 59th and 68th min ( field goals)
The Kenya Men's team were just a minute away from causing a major upset at the 2nd African Olympic Qualifier but in the end could not hold it together and ended up drawing 3-3 with joint favorites Egypt. The young Kenyan team put up a master-class display to stun the experienced Egyptian who were forced to pull every trick under their sleeve to salvage the game.
It was Kenya that went 2-0 up and then the Egyptian pulled one back. The purposeful Kenyans however doubled their advantage again with a superb combination of play in midfield.
From then, Egypt had to put up a brave fight to salvage their pride and to live up to being considered as major contenders to the title. They got one back to reduce the score to 3-2 but had to wait till the final minute of play to salvage a welcome draw.
