The 5th place match for the men between Morocco and Zimbabwe could not come off as Morocco had to fly out on friday night. However the women's 3rd place match between Ghana and Zimbabwe run into extra time ended 1-1. Ghana's goal was scored by
team captain Pamela Condobrey in the 35th minute from a penalty corner. The new 8 seconds penalty shoot out was used to determine the winner. Pamela Condobrey, Georgina Sam and Ramatu Abass scored Ghana's three out of its five penalty slots to win bronze medal. The veteran goalkeeper Grace Mensah also made a number of saves to chalk this success.The men will play Kenya on Sunday for bronze. RSA will play Kenya in the women finals whilst RSA play Egypt in the men finals.
